Hilichurls are always found wearing a mask and speak the Hilichurlian language. Some suggest that they wear the masks because they don't like seeing their reflections in the water. Despite their general hostility towards outsiders or humans and a less than optimal lifestyle, Hilichurls are also intelligent for their standards, as a few use tools and Slimes, scavenge, and even engage in agriculture, albeit limited to raising livestock due to the race's general dislike of vegetables. They have a fairly impressive, albeit archaic architectural style, the construction or purpose of them unknown. Aside from the practical use of tools, some Hilichurls such as the Pyro Grenadiers can destroy four training dummies at once with a precise throw.
Samachurls are shamans and spiritual leaders of Hilichurl tribes.
There are six types of Samachurls, and all of them have a base 50% resitance to their respective element. Besides ranged attacks, they can also strike the player at extended melee range using their large staves. While slow and clunky, they usually deal more damage than other smaller hilichurls.

Wooden Shieldwall Mitachurls are equipped with a Dendro shield. They dash towards the player, pushing them and dealing multiple instances of damage. This can be avoided by dashing aside quickly. The Mitachurl can also throw Dendro Slimes at the player as a ranged attack and will occasionally rip one out from the ground to replace its shield if it is destroyed.
Unlike Wooden Shield Hilichurl Guards, the Mitachurl can extinguish flames on its shield if it has been ignited from Burning, but only does this as a one-time mechanic. It does not repeat it again on further attempts.
Their shields can be burned using Pyro. Note that Rain (and other Hydro abilities) can extinguish a burning wooden shield. During rainy weather, Cryo can be used to freeze the Mitachurl and attack.
While Shield-wielding Mitachurls appear to be holding their shields up when frozen, any attacks that do not shatter freeze will directly bypass the shield and deal damage directly to the Mitachurl.

A young vishap with a hard Geo exoskeleton.
Vishaps are exceptionally agile creatures that one would be wise not to underestimate in battle. Experts from Sumeru Academia believe that they become dragons when fully grown. By avoiding predators and natural disasters, perhaps they can even live long enough to become formidable beasts that reign over entire mountains.
A mature Geovishap. It is said that after many years have passed, Geovishap Hatchlings will shed the armor that originally protected them and become Geovishaps. However these two and the older, greater Primo Geovishaps have spent many years hibernating under the mountains and have only emerged and become active in recent times. As such, none can personally attest to have witnessed or recorded such a thing in person.
